Overview
Position DescriptionAs a Small Group Academic Support Teacher at Shining Stars Montessori Academy, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based academic enrichment support/intervention, specialized services, and professional learning solutions for students in grades 1-6. We are currently seeking math and/or reading teachers to work with small groups of students to provide targeted remedial and accelerated instruction.

Overview
- Location: Washington, DC
- Compensation: $55,000 per year plus benefits
- Employment Type: Full-Time, 12-month position
- Start Date: August 2022 or Until filled
Position DescriptionAs a Small Group Academic Support Teacher at Shining Stars Montessori Academy, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based academic enrichment support/intervention, specialized services, and professional learning solutions for students in grades 1-6. We are currently seeking math and/or reading teachers to work with small groups of students to provide targeted remedial and accelerated instruction.
Responsibilities
- Work with small groups of 10-13 students
- Provide reading/literacy or math curriculum (training provided)
- Develop skill-appropriate lesson plans
- Maintain student records
- Administer formative assessments and track progress
- Assist with standardized assessments
- Maintain teaching materials and supplies
- Collaborate with colleagues for planning
- Ensure student safety and supervision
