The Accounting Assistant is accountable for assisting with all aspects of accounting operations within the company, which includes maintaining financial data for accounting records, computing and recording numerical data, checking the accuracy of business transactions, and performing data entry and administrative duties as to comply with GAAP accounting practices.
Daily Roles & Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting processes.
- Process high volume accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Verify that all transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger.
- Assist with month end close.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting projects as needed.
- 5 years previous experience in accounting and finance.
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Quickbooks – 5 years preferred.
- Strong Excel skills.
