Headquartered just north of Nashville, Tennessee, Shoals Technologies Group (Shoals) is a leading electrical balance of systems (EBOS) solar, energy storage, and eMobility solutions provider. Since its founding in 1996, the Company has introduced innovative technologies and systems solutions that allow its customers to substantially increase installation efficiency and safety while improving system performance and reliability. Shoals is a recognized leader in the renewable energy industry, deploying solutions on over 20 GW of solar systems globally.

The Company has manufacturing facilities in Tennessee & Alabama, with sales personnel in Spain and Australia servicing Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

Shoals sells their solar products principally to engineering, procurement, and construction firms that build solar energy projects. The custom nature of their system solutions and the engineered-to-order development cycle for solar projects typically gives Shoals a 12 month lead time to quote, engineer, produce, and ship each order, so there is no need to stock large amounts of finished goods.

Summary:

The Director Human Resources will work closely with Commercial leadership teams to execute a successful human capital strategy and drive the companys business objectives across Shoals. The role manages all aspects of the human resources function for Shoals employees in partnership with the plant human resources, total rewards and talent acquisition teams. Furthermore, this position collaborates with the entire Human Resources function on leadership development, performance management, regulatory compliance, and employee relations and will lead company-wide HR projects and initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic HR business partner to Leadership, understanding business strategies and goals, and how they are accomplished through effective people strategies and programs. Provides strategic input and oversight to departmental projects.
  • Lead company-wide HR projects and initiatives.
  • Build trust and collaborative relationships with Commercial leaders to successfully execute the people and manufacturing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the HR Leadership Team in the development and implementation of processes and initiatives that create sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Coach, manage, and develop team to achieve strategic objectives and day to day functions.
  • Ensure that employee compensation practices are competitive and aligned with the companys compensation philosophy.
  • Build and/or improve key HR infrastructure, processes, policies, systems, and procedures to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations and advance the company diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Protect the interests of employees in accordance with the companys policies and applicable governmental laws and regulations.
  • Provide expertise to HR and Leadership as it pertains to learning and development, performance management, employee experience and engagement, senior leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Utilize business metrics to inform leadership on opportunities where innovative people solutions can be developed and leveraged for optimal business results.
  • Ensure consistent, timely, and accurate application and compliance with applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Continuously evaluates existing programs and processes and develops new initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 7 years of experience in Human Resources with roles of increasing responsibility in both manufacturing and corporate settings.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management, or a related course of study.
  • Experience as an HR leader in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of plant operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well cross functionally.
  • Experience designing, building, and implementing HR functional programs, policies, tools, and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of HR and employment laws/regulations to effectively make recommendations on compliant courses of action.
  • Fluency across a range of HR disciplines, including organizational development, leadership and talent development, HR process design, compensation management, HR administration and diversity and inclusion.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Communicates a clear vision, organizes resources effectively, and adjusts the strategy as needed when managing change.
  • Makes data driven decisions and develops sustainable solutions.
  • Makes strategic decisions which prioritize the needs of the customer over departmental/individual goals.
  • Works effectively with departments, vendors, and customers to achieve organizational success.
  • Understands, identifies, and addresses conflict within own team and between teams.
