Summary/Objective: We are seeking a dedicated candidate to perform a variety of duties ranging from routine to complex clerical, secretarial, and administrative work. This position is also responsible for performing a variety of accounting and data entry functions including, but not limited to paper and electronic records management, setting up and managing spreadsheets, producing reports, compiling information, and sometimes analyzing results.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of technology/office equipment and willingness to learn new information systems and software; proficiency in the use of computer applications and MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Serve as primary backup to Receptionist, as needed; including answering the phone, transferring calls, sorting mail, and other clerical duties.
- Maintain DOT files and documentation with accuracy, in accordance with federal regulations.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy.
- Shared responsibility for all accounting work necessary to ensure entries are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts.
- Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures for accounting and bookkeeping personnel through forms, process control documents, and manuals.

Required Education and Experience
- Experience answering phones and transferring calls.
- Experience with data entry, proofreading and editing documents.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience; including experience with general ledger entries, financial statements, account reconciliations, and excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, at times working under pressure with completing priorities.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate or Bachelors degree in relevant field or an equivalent number of years of relevant experience.
- 4 years’ experience in an Administrative and/or Accounting role.
- Previous experience with QuickBooks software.
- Previous experience with Prophet 21 software, a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
