Job Overview:

Shriners Children's Northern California is seeking a full time Department Assistant to provide administrative support to Staff Development/Employee Health. Responsibilities include word processing, scheduling, phones, assist with event planning and coordination, maintenance of files and record keeping systems, as well as other general office duties.

This position is full time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $26.78/hour - $37.80/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities:
  • Engagement: communicates with new hires in scheduling orientation programs and stay interviews.
  • Health Screening Coordination: communicate with employees and volunteers about the screening process, schedules appointments, and ensures that required documentation is completed.
  • Records Maintenance: Maintains accurate and up-to-date health records through a variety of computerized and manual recordkeeping for employees and volunteers.
  • Tracks and Maintains annual compliance: Coordinates annual TB surveillance for employees and volunteers including follow-up with Managers and Human Resources. Maintains required competency / compliance records.
  • Health Promotion Activities: Assist in the development and implementation of employee health programs, such as employee wellness, health education campaigns, health promotion activities and events, such as flu vaccination clinics, fitness challenges, etc.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in administrative support required; hospital setting preferred. Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and excellent organizational skills. Must have the skill to analyze data, create and maintain spreadsheets, problem solve and communicate effectively and tactfully in both written and oral forms, possess attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment with excellent phone and follow through skills
