Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Music Therapist to join our team as a per diem.

Responsibilities

* Assist patients to achieve and maintain maximum levels of functioning in the areas of physical, cognitive and socio-emotional health while promoting principals of family centered care.

* Develops age specific and culturally appropriate treatment plans based on standards of therapy and individual needs.

* You will work with patients and the interdisciplinary team providing co-treatment, procedural support and individualized therapeutic interventions.

* Provides services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

* Position requires strong skills in assessment and planning, psychosocial support, procedural support and goal directed play.

* Collaborate with teams across the hospital to provide a continuum of care.

* Reviews medical care through hospital play/music or discussion with patient/family

Qualifications

Requirements: 3-5 years of experience as Music Therapist. Graduate of accredited degree program in Music Therapy. Current National Certification in Music Therapy.

The Per DiemMusic Therapist

* Will be available for one shift in a four week time period.

* Will be available for one weekend shift in a six week time period (Inpatient Units).

* Will be available for one major summer and winter holiday from the following (Inpatient Units):

Memorial Day

July 4th

Labor Day

Thanksgiving

Christmas

New Years

* It is an expectation that in order to maintain per diem status, one must keep all annual competencies up to date.
