Field Operations Manager

We are looking for a qualified person to oversee daily activities and manage functions for Field Operations to provide efficient and effective use of equipment, materials and staffing in the Austin area. Under limited supervision, the person will:

• Reviews all job orders and work orders to coordinate daily activities and provide efficient and effective use of materials and staffing.
• Coordinates communications internally with all departments and externally between board of directors, district consultants, customers, and operators.
• Initiates problem-solving where necessary in the operation of facilities, distribution and collection systems.
• Provides supervision for Field Operations; establishes priorities, schedules work, determines and assigns duties; checks work in progress and completed work; provides field training, as necessary.
• Administers specific personnel actions, including hiring, terminations, performance reviews, merit increases and employee warnings.
• Reviews sewage treatment plant and water well reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Performs on-site inspection of facilities to ensure that facilities are operated and maintained to client satisfaction and that all permit and/or regulatory agency requirements are met.
• Works with field operations to develop new sources of revenue and reduce or maintain current expenses. Assists Director of Operations with the Budgetary Process.
• Utilizes expertise and knowledge of industry to complete any special projects as assigned.
• Consistently have service orders closed within 45 days of when opened.
• Continue to upgrade certification.
• Maintain facility compliance.
• Communicate effectively with Account Managers.

An ideal candidate for this position should: Have a B Wastewater and/or B Surface Water
Be strong in Word/Excel and data entry skills
Have strong verbal and written skills
Have solid industry knowledge (with 2 years direct experience in water/wastewater maintenance)
Be detail oriented
Be able to multi-task
