The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), a DII NCAA athletic conference consisting primarily of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual for the role of the Communications Intern. This unique and pioneering position offers an exceptional opportunity for an individual who is eager to embark on a career in sports administration and has a deep appreciation for the values and culture of HBCUs.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and track media clips via web and organize clips/media coverage.
Update the SIAC resource information.
Maintain media email distribution lists.
Draft sports and lifestyle media pitches.
Prepare fact sheets and backgrounders.
Assist in the development of press releases.
Assist with research for new media opportunities, stories, and notes.
Assist with event coordination.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration, Business, or a related field.
Demonstrated appreciation and understanding of HBCU culture and values.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Commitment to professional growth and development in the field of sports administration.
