Position Summary:Support the electrical & automation engineering of projects from initiation to commissioning and support improving the level of the electrical, instrumentation and automation of existing plants.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze current equipment and control systems, identifies areas of inefficiency and needs for improvement, design and develop new process and utility control devices and enhance or redesign older devices used to control electronic or mechanical systems.
- Create basic schematics and simulated models to test designs, modifies designs to meet specifications and budget requirements.
- Manage performance and technical specification and purchasing of control system and instrumentation equipment and devices.
- Oversee the implementation of new measuring devices and control systems, ensuring devices are correctly installed and properly tested.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Control & Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation, Instrument) preferred.
- Experience in an industrial environment (preferably mineral processing) preferred.
- Experience in heavy industry and complex process experience preferred.
- Knowledge and skills in specific control disciplines, such as Advanced process control (APC), Distributed control systems (DCS), Programmable logic controllers (PLC), Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).
- ControlLogix and Wonderware experience are preferred.
- Project experience is preferred.
- Proficient in English. Other languages are an asset.
