MRI Technologist Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesAn MRI Technologist uses specialized equipment to produce images of bones, muscles, organs and other body structures. Their duties include operating imaging equipment, preparing patients for procedures and following orders from physicians and other healthcare providers. To succeed in this role, an MRI Technologist must be able to achieve the following tasks:
  • Taking patient medical histories
  • Answering questions about the procedure
  • Positioning patients according to established protocols
  • Adjusting equipment as needed to produce high-quality images
  • Evaluating images to make sure they meet the ordering provider's requirements
  • Entering data into electronic medical records
  • Flexible schedule, variable shifts available
