Siena Catholic Schools of Racine is Hiring an Athletic & Activities Director/Teacher Near Racine, WI

St. Catherine's High School is looking for a new Athletic & Activities Director for the 24/25 school year and beyond. This position also includes some classroom teaching responsibility. This is a full time, calendar year position.
St. Catherine's is one of seven Catholic schools which makeup Siena Catholic Schools of Racine. Siena comprises six elementary/middle schools and one high school that serve more than 1,600 students. Sharing your skills will guide the organization toward its goal of ensuring excellence in academics, nurturing faith formation, and developing healthy students. St. Catherine's High School has around 450 students and is on a block schedule.
Position SummaryThe Athletic & Activities Director retains primary responsibility for the high school (9-12) athletic teams, high school student clubs/activities and primary oversight of all 3K-8 elementary grade school athletic programs The athletic director will work with the school administrative team to manage the school’s athletic teams and student activities/clubs. This position is responsible for hiring coaches, overseeing athletic budgets, conducting student and parent meetings, schedule games, evaluate the athletic program, and comply with all rules and regulations. The position also involves classroom teaching.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implements administrative policies to support the WIAA and Milwaukee Archdiocese rules and regulation; develops policies and procedures on athletics within the school with the approval of the school principal; conducts regular staff meetings with coaches, principals and related personnel to communicate current policies and procedures; develops annual goals for the school’s athletic program and develops individual sport goals in conjunction with each head coach.
  • Determines eligibility of all school athletes within relevant policies; checks eligibility of athletes with respect to WIAA regulations; processes all eligibility information and maintains accurate records.
  • Oversees the school van driving records, ensures all drivers meet minimum requirements and have obtained approval from Catholic Mutual to drive students.
  • Protect the integrity of the institution’s policies, procedures and processes—this includes academic policies, athletic code and other policies, and hiring/evaluation processes.
  • Coordinating all student activities within the school year and finding appropriate advisors to oversee student clubs and activities.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop coaches and related athletic support staff.
  • Administrative duties—this includes all scheduling, contracting, securing officials and other game personnel, transportation, and event implementation.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive athletic program which seeks the highest development of all participants, and which respects the individual dignity of every athlete.
  • Organizes, directs and promotes an interscholastic athletic program that is an integral part of the total educational program.
  • Cooperates with the administration in establishing, implementing and supporting school policies.
  • Acts impartially in the execution of policies and the enforcement of the conference, league and state high school association rules and regulations.
  • While performing the job duties of Teacher, the Teacher job description will be applied.
  • Oversees school club and activity advisors and student participation.
  • Fulfills professional responsibilities with honesty and integrity.
  • Improves the professional status and effectiveness of the position through participation in local, state and national in-service programs and conferences.
  • Promotes high standards of ethics, sportsmanship and personal conduct by encouraging administration, coaches, staff, student-athletes and community to commit to these high standards.
  • Advocate for the students – making decisions based on what is best for students.
  • Oversees and assists Lead AD for Siena Catholic Schools
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to uphold and promote the mission, goals, and objectives of Siena Catholic Schools of Racine.
  • Wisconsin DPI Administrator License or equivalent Graduate Degree.
  • Licensed educator with 5 or more years at the secondary level preferred.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Varied knowledge of sports, and some experience in coaching.
  • Experienced educator/coach with at least 5 years of athletic experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer and applicable software skills such as Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to supervise others.
  • Ability to collaborate with management and peers.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, and iOS operating systems, Microsoft Office, Google G Suite, rSchool, Arbiter and Zebraweb
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with proactive problem solving skills and habits.
  • Professional, courteous demeanor with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, collaboratively and positively with co-workers, staff, students, public and administration.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple, competing priorities.
Work Relationships & ScopeReports to the Principal. Frequent contact with all Siena employees, students and families of students. Occasional interaction with the Director of Schools, Director of Operations, Siena President, and Siena department heads and third-party providers.

Work is performed in a pleasant indoor school environment. May be exposed to heat, cold, wet and high humidity when traveling between sites. Work hours are somewhat flexible but generally 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Travel to other local Siena sites is required daily. Ability to work longer hours, as needed.
