Here’s where you come in:

Sierra Construction is looking for a payroll professional to join our team. This position is dedicated to the in-house weekly processing of a multi-state (Washington and Oregon) payroll in Sage 300 CRE and responding to payroll related employee inquiries. The successful candidate will be adaptive, organized, detail oriented and employee focused. In order to be successful you must have a strong understanding of wage and hour laws for Washington and Oregon, the ability to manage competing priorities, and have regular attendance.

You’re great at:

  • Reviewing timesheets for accuracy, coordinating corrections as needed
  • Processing an in-house weekly payroll using Sage 300 CRE in compliance with all Federal, State and County rules and regulations, including prevailing wage guidelines
  • Submitting tax deposits as required
  • Completing all payroll related federal and state quarterly tax returns, including W-2s, workers’ compensation reports and all other quarterly reporting in a timely manner
  • Updating employee information for taxes, benefits, wage changes, garnishments, direct deposit information and other miscellaneous wage deductions in the payroll software and other platforms
  • Maintaining employee benefit changes on carrier portals for new and current employees, as well as submitting termination updates
  • Reconciling transactions, reviewing payroll records, maintaining employee personnel files
  • Tracking leave requests, sending COBRA information
  • Other duties as assigned

What we would like to see from you:

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field
  • A minimum of three years of payroll experience
  • Previous Sage 300 CRE experience
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Sierra offers a total compensation package that includes a base salary with a benefits package that offers health insurance (Medical and Dental), paid time off (Vacation, Sick and Holiday), retirement benefits (Employer Profit Sharing and 401(k) Plan with discretionary match), Long Term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance and an EAP. Other available benefits include Voluntary Term Life Insurance, Health Spending Account, Healthcare Pre-Tax Spending Plan, and Pre-Paid Legal Services. The full pay range for this position is $25-$36 per hour. We are committed to do our best to supply a suitable pay range for this job. We will work hard to assess the proper fit for you within Sierra’s company structure after assessing your experience, training, and qualifications.
