Job Summary

Tatum Psychology Employment Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial system operations of our multi-entity, multi-practice behavioral health organization. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of our accounting system transactions, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring the organization is audit-ready close accounting each month. This role requires a tactical thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of managing and improving accounting processes and systems. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting System Transaction Management

• Oversee and maintain the integrity of the accounting system transactions, AP, AR and banking, across multiple entities and practices.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Implement and manage accounting software and systems upgrades as necessary.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare month-end accruals and journal entries for final trial balance. 
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of balance sheet close. 
• Develop and maintain reporting processes that provide insights into root cause to budget variance and system gaps. 

3. Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain documentation and support for all balance sheet accounts.

4. Budget Variance and Financial Literacy

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets to upload into accounting software system. 
• Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to the program management team.
• Support financial performance of management team with insights and economic analysis of company value chain and activities. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or multi-entity environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
