Siffrin is seeking compassionate individuals to fill the role of Direct Support Professional (DSP). If you have a heart for service and a passion for helping others lead fulfilling lives, this is the opportunity for you!

Position Summary: As a DSP at Siffrin, you will provide essential support to individuals in a residential setting, helping them with daily living activities and encouraging active participation in their home and community. Your role is pivotal in empowering those we serve to make their own decisions and live life to the fullest.

Essential Functions:

  • Foster social and emotional well-being by assisting with family contact, community interaction, and behavior support.
  • Maintain a respectful and dignified environment, always upholding personal integrity.
  • Help achieve personal goals as outlined in Individual/My Plans.

Your Daily Impact:

  • Aid in home maintenance, meal prep, and teaching laundry skills tailored to individual needs.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, living space through regular drills and sanitation practices.
  • Communicate effectively regarding the needs of those served and participate in community activities.
  • Advocate for appropriate personal presentation, hygiene, and citizenship, contributing to a valued lifestyle.

Medical Support:

  • Coordinate and assist with medical appointments, providing transportation and communication support.
  • Administer medications and treatments following strict guidelines.
  • Master the use of adaptive equipment to enhance the lives of those served.

Organizational Duties:

  • Diligently complete and file documentation.
  • Safely operate and maintain agency vehicles.
  • Adhere to all policies, laws, and regulations in your duties.

Training and Development:

  • Engage in ongoing training to stay current with best practices and agency requirements.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with mobility needs.
  • Operate vehicles in various conditions for errands and activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Clean background and motor vehicle record.
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Outlook, and internet navigation.
