Position Summary
Supervises the Home Managers assigned to them, providing oversight that day to day operations of the residential living homes are being managed according to individual plans, agency policies and procedures, quality standards, and governing regulations. Provides supervision and management of homes assigned to them when the home manager position is vacant or the staff member cannot complete duties. Acts as the Home Manager of one residential home within their assigned area.
Essential Functions
- Supervises Home Manager staff as assigned. Assumes responsibility for any Siffrin staff working in residential settings.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and procedure and applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include: assisting in the interviewing and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance of assigned staff; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing and resolving complaints and problems. Shall ensure that competent levels of performance are met based upon the written job description.
- Assists the Home Managers with maintaining staff coverage in the home to meet the needs of the individuals served in accordance with their annual plans and in a manner consistent with the purposes and objectives of Siffrin.
- Performs all duties listed on the Direct Support Professional and Home Manager job descriptions as necessary. Performs all duties of a Home Manager within an assigned home.
- Assures that all records are maintained accurately and efficiently. This includes, but is not limited to, census, payroll data, program and medication records, and staff schedules. May also include any other records as requested or required by the administration, accreditation, and/or funding sources.
- Provides oversight of the coordination and documented staff training of each Individual Plan of service to ensure safety, community and family involvement, and maximum individual empowerment within the normal course of life is achieved.
- Provides oversight to ensure reviews, updates, or revisions of home procedures are completed to maintain compliance with required standards, rules, regulations, plans of correction, laws, and codes.
- Conducts ongoing program analysis to assist in determining their effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensures that Home Managers maintain safe and sanitary conditions within assigned homes at all times. This includes assuring that fire drills and emergency weather drills are scheduled and run per agency guidelines.
- Leads staff meetings on a quarterly basis. Attends staff meetings that are facilitated by the Home Manager staff as needed.
- Completes additional duties as requested or assigned by the Director of Residential Services.
- Assures that the home books are updated and maintained and that all required office items and forms are accessible.
- Assists in communicating home maintenance needs.
- Assists as needed/possible for persons served to maintain their benefit eligibility, not limited to SSI, SSA, Medicaid, VA, Medicare, and/or other qualifying benefits
- Follows Siffrin’s Code of Ethics in the fulfillment of duties.
- Completes ongoing training annually. This includes all required agency training.
Qualifications
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; weight may vary depending on the location.
Must be able to push wheelchairs, use Hoyer lifts, bend, twist, and pick up objects with body and hands as needed.
Must be able to operate a vehicle in all weather conditions to take to grocery store, doctors’ appointments, and other community activities as needed.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a degree in a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in the field of DD is considered. At least two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Must exhibit knowledge of the concepts of empowerment and behavior management. Must become familiar with the standards as mandated by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
Must meet the agency policy with respect to a criminal background and motor vehicle record checks.
Schedule
The schedule is full-time/flexible hours based upon requirements and responsibilities. Homes provide services 24/7.
