Position: Security Officer (part-time)

Position Summary:
The Dedicated Officer for Signal of West Sioux Falls is a member of the Dedicated Team under Elite Security, LLC. This position is responsible for hourly duties directed by their Branch Supervisor and site-specific post orders. Fulfilling the position is one that requires integrity and work ethic. Each Signal Security Officer will be working by themselves and should possess the ability to sufficiently execute Post Orders without constant monitoring from executive staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Security Officers are required to communicate in a professional manner that is open, honest, respectful, timely, and responsive in all situations. Foul language or being negative, derogatory, or disrespectful is never appropriate in any situation even if the person suspected of criminal activity is hostile and verbally abusive towards you. The inside Security Officer will patrol the inside of the facility continuously in a highly visible manner with stops that take no more than a couple minutes. Officers should patrol “High Shrink” areas observing suspicious activity, as well as patrolling associate-only areas. When a potential shoplifter is spotted, the Officer will engage in “aggressive hospitality” and the 10-foot Rule. Both these techniques will be trained on-site. Reports will be written and submitted to client Management in the event that individuals try to solicit or distribute items on the premises, suspicious and/or criminal activity is observed, safety issues are observed, and any other incidents that may occur. Security Officers may be asked to accompany associates transporting cash or high value merchandise and may be a witness to apprehensions and detentions.
Signal Security is an unarmed, non-physical company. In this position, you will NOT be carrying weapons, or laying your hands on other individuals.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Must be able to maintain site specific security orders
· Must be able to pass a background check & drug test
· Must have a working and functional smart phone with data to conduct reports
· Must own personal transportation or have reliable transportation to get to and from work
Education:
· High school diploma or GED is required
