Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Entry-Level Underground Coal Miner to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the extraction of coal, maintain conveyor belt operations, and ensure the overall safety of the mining environment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shovel coal and rock onto moving conveyor belts, onto stationary equipment, and/or into piles.
• Construct stoppings by handling hollow or solid cement blocks and metal panels.
• Build cribbing to support underground structures.
• Install and maintain roof supports to prevent collapses.
• Supply work areas with necessary materials for ongoing operations.
• Perform routine maintenance on mining equipment and report any necessary repairs.
• Hang and maintain brattice and vent tubing to ensure proper ventilation.
• Monitor air quality and ventilation systems to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain rock dust standards to ensure safety and compliance.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Conduct routine inspections of the mining area to identify potential hazards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient mining operations.

Qualifications:

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Basic knowledge of mining equipment and machinery operation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in challenging conditions.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 60 lbs).
• Endurance to perform physically demanding tasks such as shoveling coal for extended periods.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and tolerate dusty, noisy, and dark conditions.
• Capability to bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
