Sigray, Inc. has an opening for a purchasing planner. Sigray is a manufacturer of high-end X-ray scientific equipment with systems installed around the world. The purchasing planner will play a critical role in procurement processes and timely production by collaborating regularly with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and the manufacturing department. Additionally, this role will include supervising and coordinating a small group of purchasers to ensure adherence to procurement policies and deadlines.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience with various commodities: machined parts, critical electronics, sheet metal, and OEM supplies; for highly complex electromechanical systems.
• 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing and production planning role at a capital equipment company, preferably in the electronic or medical device manufacturing industry
• Expert knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and utilizing advanced features of ERP/MRP systems to streamline production and purchasing processes
• Experience creating and maintaining internal part numbers for purchasing, ensuring accuracy and alignment with engineering standards while coordinating for final review
• Ability to develop and implement strategies for purchasing decisions to optimize financial performance
• Foresight on potential timeline problems to proactively mitigate such problems, including developing strategies to handle unexpected production disruptions
• Experience tracking and developing vendor concessions, such as negotiating discounts, favorable payment terms, and faster shipping times, to enhance procurement efficiency
• Experience supervising a team to ensure efficiency and productivity, and to meet project deadlines

Requirements:

• Proficiency in ERP systems

• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices
• Experience in cost accounting with a strong understanding of cost analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting within a purchasing or supply chain context
• Experience in a supervisory role, managing a team of professionals

Additional factors of interest to the team are experience with:

• Experience working in a startup R&D manufacturing environment
• Experience working in the semiconductor or medical device industry is a plus

About Sigray

Sigray is a rapidly growing startup based in Concord, CA, that manufactures X-ray sources, optics, and systems. The X-ray systems include X-ray spectroscopy, microfluorescence, and nano- and micro-computed tomography, as well as several unreleased instruments under active development. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of instrumentation design and programming of motion control systems.

The company was started by Dr. Wenbing Yun, who previously founded Xradia, a world leading x-ray microscopy company that was later successfully acquired by Carl Zeiss as its x-ray microscopy unit. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
