Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Location: Rochester, NY
Shift: Rotating
Duration: 13 Weeks
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Emergency Readiness: Be prepared to respond and equipped to handle medical emergencies efficiently and effectively.
- Patient Assessment: Quickly and accurately assess patient needs upon arrival in the emergency room.
- Critical Care: Provide immediate treatment for critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma.
- Minor Operations: Perform minor medical procedures as needed.
- Wound Care: Clean and dress wounds to prevent infection and promote healing.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood for tests and transfusions.
- Care Standards: Maintain high standards of care in the emergency room environment.
- Documentation: Assist patients with insurance paperwork and ensure all documentation is accurately completed.
- Efficiency: Ensure the efficiency and smooth operation of the patient check-in process.
- Floating is expected.
- Expected to work every other weekend.
- Decision Making: Display strong decision-making skills in high-pressure emergency scenarios.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Active RN license from the New York State Department.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse in a critical care or emergency room setting.
- Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) certifications required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Specialized Skills: Experience in critical care areas including trauma, stroke, cardiac, and general medicine.
Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $60.00 - $62.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
