Silverspot Cinemas is Hiring a General Manager Near Miami, FL

GENERAL SUMMARY

Silverspot Cinema is looking for a passionate, intrinsically motivated General Manager with a drive for business acumen and exceptional guest service. This position is responsible for efficiently and profitably operating the Silverspot Cinema Downtown Miami location. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations.Silverspot Cinema is a customer-centric company specializing in sophisticated cinema and food &beverage offerings in a boutique environment.

General Manager directs and leads the team on the day-to-day to ensure that the Silverspot Experience is being delivered consistently and cost and expenses are in line with budget goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

1. Objective: Planning operational activities

1.1 Activity: Forecast weekly sales of tickets.

1.2 Activity: Schedule show times to maximize attendance with the right mix of film and showtime.

1.3 Activity: Schedule labor hours by using the Staffing Tool and the weekly forecast.

1.4 Activity: Communicate the admission forecast to the Kitchen Manager.

1.5 Activity: Conduct Pre-Shift Meetings to share the weekly admission forecast and goals, as well as make general and departmental announcements. 

2. Objective: Develop and retain a strong team of managers and team members. 

2.1 Activity: Manage the recruitment of new hires.

2.2 Activity: Lead, supervise, coach, and ultimately foster a collaboration culture to motivate the team.

2.3 Activity: Train, train and continue to develop the managements and supervisor which in turn train all the team members to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard. 

2.4 Activity: Follows proper human resource policies as it relates to staff issues, concerns and applying disciplinary actions.

3. Objective: Ensure the delivery of the Silverspot Experience.

3.1 Activity: Deliver Outstanding Service by following the Brand Pillar.

3.2 Activity: Ensure all guest are getting a great cinematic experience with perfect projection and sound quality and the right volume level.

3.3 Activity: Ensure that foods and drinks orders are being served to the guest on time and the correct temperature. 

3.4 Activity: Handle the resolution of escalated guest service issues and diffuse situations through proper service recovery techniques.

4. Objective: Ensure that foods and drinks meet Silverspot’s quality standards. 

4.1 Activity: Supervise the KM to ensure the kitchen operation is running well.

4.2 Activity: Supervise to ensures that recipes and presentation are being followed strictly.

4.3 Activity: Supervise to ensure that the kitchen produces the volume of foods on time to meet 10 minutes or less.

4.4 Activity: Supervise the KM to ensures the kitchen is neat, clean, and organized.

4.5 Activity: Supervise the bartenders to ensures that drink recipes and presentation are being followed strictly.

4.6 Activity: Supervise the bartenders to ensure that the bar is making the volume of drinks in 5 minutes or less.

5. Objective: Financial responsibility of overseeing the theater’s budget and maintain control over expenditures and labor.

5.1 Activity: Meet P&L and revenue goals monthly, quarterly and annually.

5.2 Activity: Schedule and manage labor to ensure that KPIs are met weekly, monthly.

5.3 Activity: Manage Inventory of supplies, foods, drinks, chemicals, etc. to control COGS and minimize loses following the standard operating procedures and guidelines mandated by the Finance Department.

5.4 Activity: Manage purchasing of supplies, foods, drinks, chemicals, etc. to assure proper stockage to meet expected customer demand.

5.5 Activity: Control cash and other receipts by adhering to policies and procedures. 

5.6 Activity: Ensure closing and opening duties are completed and record keeping is adhered to by company policies. 

 6. Objective: Ensure that the physical aspect of the theater is ready and in shape to deliver the Silverspot experience.

6.1 Activity: Ensure that all FF&E (Furniture, fixing and equipment) is kept clean, in excellent working condition.

6.2 Activity: Guard and supervise actively the well handling of all technology equipment including tablets, printers, KDS, Radios, etc.

6.3 Activity: Ensure all repair needs are documented by using the help desk.

6.4 Activity: Supervise that all preventative and periodic maintenance and repairs are being done and completed satisfactorily.

7. Objective: Observe all Silverspot Policies as well all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain as Food Safety, Health and Safe Work conditions Health

7.1 Activity: Follow the proper protocols and refer to the employee handbook when employee issues arise. 

7.2 Activity: Report any guest or employee incident and follow the protocols immediately.

7.4 Activity: Maintain active certifications/License in all required areas of food handling and alcohol awareness.

7.5 Activity: Follow emergency preparedness and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in restaurant management, business, hospitality, or related field preferred or
  • At least 5 years experience in Food & Beverage Management 
  • Or a combination of experience and education

KNOWLEDGE 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of food and beverage trends and service delivery.
  • Working knowledge of POS systems preferably VISTA but can be Micros, TOAST or Aloha 
  • Strong working and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft software including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint

SKILLS

  • Hospitality Skills that can be transferred to the team such as using proper hospitality verbiage, greeting and guest recovery techniques. 
  • Leadership skills to manage, motivate and develop team members.
  • Delegation skills.
  • Competent in using spreadsheets, formulas, and basic to advanced excel functions. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability and skills to problem solve, conflict resolution and strong listening skills.
  • Decision making skills in making good sound judgment.

OTHER CERTIFICATIONS

  • Safe serv and food safety manager certification

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 

  • Work is performed in the theater which is well lit and has proper ventilation.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, consistent work attendance is a requirement and essential function of this position.
