Simmons Prepared Foods Inc is Hiring a Director Long Range Supply Planning Near Rogers, AR

To develop supply chain strategies that will transform for the supply chain capabilities for Simmons Foods. This position will lead initiatives to deliver results across all supply chain functions including Planning, Procurement, Transportation and Distribution.

Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a Salary Exempt Position. 

Supply Planning. Develop talent within the department, coaches, sets goals, prioritizes resources and holds employees accountable. Set the vision for the Simmons Pet Food Supply Planning team and own supply and capacity planning for all Pet Food division producing locations to actively drive continuous improvement. Identify issues and opportunities within Supply Planning and its partners to understand root causes as well as define sustainable solutions. Establish and drive data driven process improvements within the supply chain which include initiatives to reduce end-to-end supply chain lead-time and costs while improving service.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Manage S&OP Supply processes, identifying opportunities for enhancement and continuous improvement as business needs change. Ensure ongoing collaboration with Network partners to confirm alignment on Simmons Pet Food supply chain strategy and priorities to improve flexibility and responsiveness across the supply chain. Drive development and enhancement of innovative and collaborative planning tools, sharing and influencing adoption of best practices across business.

Network Optimization. Leader in network optimization initiative, coordinating with the commercial team as well as being the go between for the rest of the supply chain arms in service of the business. Own the end-to-end model on production location, freight moves, material impacts and process capabilities. Provide recommendations to the business on supply strategies that add value or create space for revenue growth and value creation.

Change Management. Lead the change management initiatives for supply chain. Establish and refine process. This will include planning, organizational communication, training, collaboration with leadership and post implementation support and follow up.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Move about in a manufacturing environment, office environment, and surrounding property.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.

Travel: Travels within North America to and from multiple facilities or worksites, requiring overnight stays.

Technical Experience: 7 years’ experience in Supply Chain with specific experience in supply chain planning, manufacturing, plant operations, technology implementation and change management.

Industry Experience: Preference for pet or people food processing organization.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 4 years related experience.
