Purpose of the Position

Lead and facilitate team member learning on a variety of topics through multiple programs, including leadership, communications, emotional intelligence and accountability. Take responsibility to produce meaningful experiences with impactful delivery and continuous improvement of leadership and professional development at Simmons Foods. 

Essential Position ResponsibilitiesThis is a Salary Exempt position.

Personal leadership style that aligns with Simmons values and culture. Ability to draw from leadership and life experiences as you teach, coach and mentor other leaders. 

Heart of a Teacher: Desire to help others learn something new every day through facilitating a best in class learning experience. Ability to adapt teaching style to best suit the environment and the audience. Engage team members in interactive learning sessions. Comfort in teaching multiple subjects and flexibility to deliver extemporaneously when necessary. 

Passion for Innovation: Collaborate with key stakeholders to evolve delivery to best suit team members and work environment, and ensure that training aligns with business needs and goals. Work with Learning & Development team and business partners to facilitate process improvement. Find new and better ways to connect and create learning opportunities. 

Learn on the Fly: Prepared to provide an excellent experience for each session you are responsible to facilitate. Ability to quickly adapt when things don’t go as planned or when business needs change. Learner as well as teacher. You must be able to learn new topics, content, curriculum and build business acumen quickly.

Performance Tracking: Track, measure, and report learners’ performance progress to ensure achievement of behavioral outcomes aligned with team and business needs. Ability to gauge comprehension and review topics as needed. Provide ongoing communication to program managers and business partners regarding all aspects of learning and development (class notifications, participant performance, attendance and issues).

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all issues. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify problems and bring and implement solutions to add value to the larger organization.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. Present information to small and large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property. Set up training spaces and move training materials. 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by facility.

Travel: 25-50%

Technical Experience: Knowledge of working software such as WebEx to host training and events virtually. Ability to set up and operate audio and visual equipment when required for trainings. 

Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, and at least 3 years of teaching/facilitation experience.

Preferred Education: Master’s degree in leadership, organizational development, industrial psychology, adult education or related field. Certifications from Birkman, FranklinCovey, VitalSmarts.
