Simpson Judge are working with an established 40-head law firm specializing in tax, trusts and estates to source an Associate or Senior Associate for their Manhattan office.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax law, estate planning, and trust administration. This role involves advising clients on various tax and estate planning matters, developing strategies to minimize tax liabilities, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive estate plans, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and families, focusing on strategies to minimize estate, gift, and income taxes.
• Administer and manage trusts and estates, including the preparation and filing of necessary tax returns and legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax and estate planning issues.
• Assist clients with charitable giving strategies, including the creation of charitable trusts and foundations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors to deliver integrated and comprehensive legal services.
• Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to provide up-to-date advice and solutions to clients.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and fostering long-term partnerships.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• LL.M. in Taxation or CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in tax, trusts, and estates law.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws, estate planning, and trust administration.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner.
• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
