Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is Hiring a Business Development Senior Specialist Near New York, NY
The Business Development Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting the Business Development Chief Business Development Officers and other senior team members and Firm Partners and associates, by organizing and leveraging information about Firm’s practice areas and lawyers, including biographies, deal and experience lists, rankings/awards, practice descriptions, client contacts and other core information, to support the Firm’s practice, strategic marketing and business development. This role provides research and analysis about clients, competitors, markets and industries, and assists with work product that support initiatives and meet the Firm’s high standard of excellence. Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain promotional materials, including brochures, practice area descriptions, rankings and quotes
Provide competitive intelligence reports and analysis
Draft customized pitches, responses to RFPs, and other marketing materials for new business opportunities and client meetings
Assist with client targeting efforts
Prepare and assist in the management of directory submissions and survey responses for various legal and business directories and publications
Work with the matter management team to collect and maintain deal and case experience and help to manage the engagement database and across other channels
Maintain website content, Partner biographies and other Business Development and communications materials across multiple channels
Manage creation of advertising, posters, flyers and other promotional materials, working with the Graphic Designer and outside vendors where appropriate
Work with Partners and BD team to manage data for the Firm’s contact database
Help to manage Firm-sponsored events and presentations
Respond to occasional requests directly from Partners
Work with stakeholders in other departments and in other offices as needed
Support Business Development projects and other Firm initiatives as needed
Analyze and recommend possible solutions to varied non-routine problems
May be involved in implementing functional initiatives in own area
In limited cases, act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Perform other duties as assigned

Capable of independently identifying solutions to standard issues and involves more senior members for nonstandard issues
Demonstrated strength in most if not all areas of Business Development skill set, as applicable to job description
Demonstrated accountability for technical contribution and for adding value ; thinking one step ahead, anticipating what the information will be used for and trying to present in a manner that reduces the burden on those above
Proficiency in MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in marketing and business development field at a law firm preferred
Some familiarity with Content Pilot’s suite of products or other experience database preferred
Experience updating/maintaining a website preferred
Demonstrated experience using a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system preferred

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
