Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to learn and grow with the role and a desire to stay in the Tampa region for the long-term. The Accounts Payable Specialist responsibilities include maintaining accurate records regarding payments to suppliers, and processing payments from clients. This position will report to the Chief Accountant.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure 3-way match processes and controls are performed.
  • Maintain communication with vendors through phone and email to communicate 3-way match discrepancies and resolution.
  • Establish and implement controls around invoice processing.
  • Maintain timely and effective communication with internal sales branch staff to facilitate proper invoice approvals.
  • Maintain accrual tracking spreadsheets as needed.
  • Ensure proper coding of invoices in the general ledger system.
  • Reconcile vendor statements on a monthly or as needed basis.
  • Ability to handle high volume of invoices and vendors efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations and closing procedures.
  • Support the accounting team during various annual audits.
  • Perform other projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or a related field, from an accredited college or university OR AA/AS degree with 1 year of experience in accounting or related field OR 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting or accounts receivable role.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in English.


Physical Requirements
:

  • Sims Crane & Equipment maintains a firm commitment to providing a safe and healthy work environment for its employees and quality services to its clients.   • Work is performed in a standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds at times.
