As an Account Representative, your primary responsibility will be selling Ansys products to both existing customers and prospects. You'll primarily engage via phone, with occasional in-person meetings when necessary. Ansys, a leader in engineering simulation and listed on NASDAQ (ANSS), spearheads the market in Simulation-Driven Product Development.

Your role will encompass managing both transactional and moderately complex sales, with the support of a skilled technical team comprised of Structural, Thermal, Fluids, and Electromagnetics engineers. Join us in contributing to an international success story that truly makes a difference.

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager

Location: Midwest (Michigan ideal)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for setting appointments through research and phone calls for both new prospects and current customers
  • Lead software sales activities for new and renewal business for your territory
  • In coordination with the Territory Account Managers, develop, plan, execute, track, and follow up on field marketing activities (e.g., user groups, hands on workshops, executive engagements, industry seminars) for both prospects and current customers
  • Conduct industry, company, and prospect research in assigned territory
  • Identify, contact electronically and through high-quality phone calls, and secure meetings with prospective new customers to determine technical needs
  • Challenge prospects by proposing new tools and new engineering processes to drive business
  • Work closely with Territory Account Managers to support any internal sales team needs
  • Engage our engineering staff for support with prospect calls, application questions and other various needs to advance the sale
  • Maintain and track records of calls, appointments and field marketing event attendance as required in Salesforce.com
  • Develop & grow long term relationships with clients, prospects, and current customers
  • Work with our Sales Development Representatives to coordinate prospecting and lead generation

  • Methodical and organized, yet creative in your sales approach
  • Must be able to work well in a group as well as independently
  • Capacity to learn and retain basic technical/product knowledge

Helpful Qualifications / Non-Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher
  • Previous sales experience (software sales is ideal)
  • Familiarity with Engineering Simulation products
  • An understanding of engineering processes and related technology (e.g., CAD, HPC)

Pay range: $60,000-$70,000 base, $95,000-$115,000 OTE
