Position Purpose: Reporting to the Outpatient Manager, the Substance Use Therapist is responsible for providing services that affirm clients’ strengths, broaden their problem-solving abilities, and increase their self-knowledge. Caregiver is responsible to ensure that appropriate documentation required for billing and coding is completed. Candidate serves as a mentor and leader incoming staff. Key Job Activities: · Conduct psychotherapeutic and other clinical treatment sessions for individuals, families, and groups · Complete all required case records and statistical reporting documentation within specified time frames · Conducts initial screenings & clinical assessment for each patient with a history and or current substance use disorder and identify the appropriate level of care. · Provide culturally sensitive care to patients with substance use disorders or dual diagnosis. · Must be able to provide direct service for 70% of working hours · Facilitate consultations and outreach to ensure access to substance use treatment services. · Develop treatment plans that address comprehensive needs & continue to update individual recovery plans. · Document and update patient records in electronic medical records · Patient case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning and discharge with individual and or group therapy · Provides information and referrals to community-based resources including medical stabilization, IOP, Medication-Assisted Recovery (Methadone, Suboxone, and Vivitrol) · Provides client education and training in the areas of psychiatric illness, substance use, and treatment with Naloxone · Provide therapy based on an identified theoretical model (cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, or other) · Evaluation of risk factors including suicide and violence & create safety plan. · Evaluation of case management needs with knowledge of state, federal, and local community, financial, social service resources & resources of various agencies providing services to the community. · Ability to advocate patients and families in utilizing resources and services. · Ability to lead family or group psychotherapy in the follow: crisis, family, substance use disorders and clinical supervision while being culturally sensitive to clients with multiple diagnoses. · Perform other duties as assigned Education and Work Experience: · Master’s in social work, Counseling, Psychology or related behavioral health program · Two years’ experience working in substance use · Clinic and formal training in identified styles of therapy · Experience working as a mentor and coach working with students, peers and leadership ·
Must be willing to attend ongoing community resource development Knowledge and Skills: · Experience Preferred in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems · Exceptional interpersonal skills · High level of clinical insight · Attention to detail to attend monthly staff meetings, clinical case staffing, and designed in-service sessions · Time management · Knowledge and familiarity with various agencies providing services in the community · Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required · Culturally competent Certifications/Licenses: · Valid Driver’s License · LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC OR · CADC required. · Personal vehicle required.
