Sinai Health System is Hiring a Vice President Development (CDO) Near Chicago, IL

Drives philanthropic growth and influences the organization's ability to impact the communities we serve. Develops and executes a comprehensive philanthropy strategy, provides operational leadership and direction, and fosters a culture of philanthropy across Sinai Chicago, our board, and key stakeholders. The CDO will work closely with Chief Executive Officer, development team, senior leaders, board members, and key functional leaders to build and leverage giving and capital opportunities that will advance our mission, impact health equity, and create healthier lives within the communities we serve. Serves as a member of the Executive Team participating in system-wide strategy development, planning and decision-making.

The position is responsible to perform the following key items:

Develops and brands a compelling vision for philanthropy that fully leverages system strengths while ensuring strategic giving/fundraising initiatives are aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Creates the philanthropic marketing and stakeholder strategy aimed at building relationships that will help strengthen philanthropic support and promote the organization's mission throughout Chicagoland and other appropriate markets.

Demonstrates strong strategic planning and execution skills and the ability to inspire and lead fundraising and capital drive efforts from conception to achievement of objectives.

Develops new strategies and approaches to cultivate and obtain contributions from a diverse pool of donor prospects.

Serves as a system ambassador in forming and managing philanthropic relationships and stays abreast to align system strategy and priorities with donor interest.

Builds a strong collaboration with board development committee, auxiliaries, and other organizational support development teams to support innovation and shared opportunities, while also understanding the unique fundraising drivers of each group.

Builds and fosters a vibrant culture of philanthropy internally and throughout the Sinai Chicago service area through compelling stories and messages.

Identifies and supports implementation of best practices and aligns development team to most effectively drive desired outcomes and maximize ROI.

Maintains a collaborative, supporting relationship with leaders and stakeholders across the enterprise to encourage vendor and external partner connection and support of the Sinai Chicago mission.

Tracks and monitors fundraising progress and regularly reports results to board, executive leadership and management teams.

Performs other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have the following minimal qualifications:

Master's degree in communication, public relations, philanthropic management, non-profit administration business administration, finance, health care administration, or related field.

Ten or more years of progressively more responsible related work experience including five (5) or more years of experience as progressive leader in philanthropic or chief executive role in non-profit leadership.

A proven track record as an effective and communitive leader of a health care organization.

Ability to communicate a vision and instill associates with a sense of shared purpose.

Advanced critical and strategic thinking skills

Self-starter and driven to build and grow the right long-term relationships.

Leadership and management skills necessary to work effectively within a system, influence results, motivate individuals and teams, and resolve problems in a diplomatic professional manner.

Excellent oral and written communication, persuasion, negotiation, and presentation skills. The incumbent must be able to clearly articulate factual and advisory information to all levels of staff, executives, the boards of directors, and others, and garner related support.

Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Willingness to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

A personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Sinai Health System
