Sinclair Community College is Hiring a Locksmith / Maintenance Repairperson III Near Dayton, OH

The purpose of the Locksmith position is to maintain accurate issuance, operation and tracking of all assigned keys and card access systems on campus. It is necessary to provide services to ensure a safe, secure and compliant environment for persons and equipment throughout the facility. An assessment of the changing needs as well as repairing malfunctioning doors and access control systems campus wide is essential.

Principal Accountabilities

Track and properly issue access by keys and badges
Maintain and repair malfunctioning hardware
Monitor standards and specificiations followed by outside Contractors and Architects.
Perform other related lock shop and general maintenance tasks as directed
Re-core, change locks, cut keys from approved key request forms and act as a tertiary level of authorization for access control. We are the final step in the key request process
Make door and hardware repairs on a priority basis
General decision responsibilities are to advise the most effective brands, types, and functions of the different hardware available while also being mindful of standards, policies, and costs
Provide recommendations for general stock items that are needed for incidents that arise that should receive rapid responses
Maintain accurate records of all college individual employees and all outside contractor’s key accounts
All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Locksmith must be proficient in creating a keying plan and assembling cores for both simple and complex keying systems within departments
A mandatory knowledge of commercial hardware installation, repair, regulations, and maintenance
Have computer knowledge sufficient to operate and maintain the SimpleK system, Onity card reader system, and Lenel system
Must obtain Locksmith certification within 6 months through the Foley-Belsaw or equivalent approved authorizing agent
