Supervisor, Production Scheduling
Position Summary

Under direct leadership, the Supervisor, Production Scheduling manages a team that provides accurate status reporting of vehicle and sub assembly builds and plans the forward schedule at the shop level, understanding the working pattern and any build constraints that may exist. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient production operations and to work in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
This is an on-site role in Torrance, CA.
Essential Functions
  • Leads and supervises the Production Scheduling Team ensuring department goals are achieved and production deadlines are met on time and within budget 
  • Uses extensive knowledge of the production process to design and implement the production schedule plan considering all aspects of production including cost, timeliness, and effectiveness 
  • Work cross-departmentally with Material Operations and production teams to review relevant factors impacting production schedules, improve processes, and resolve issues 
  • Performs administrative duties, including but not limited to approving timecards, scheduling, conducting reviews, maintaining stocking levels of supplies, and one-on-one mentoring and training of direct reports 
  • Implements best-practices for production scheduling across US Operations 
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting vehicle and sub assembly production status 
  • Accountable for vehicle and sub assembly on-time delivery 
  • Provides leadership and guidance to the rest of the Production Scheduling Team and Production Leads regarding the production schedule and status 
  • Ensures all team members are trained on operational procedures and that the team works efficiently and effectively to meet established goals 
  • Monitors the individual performance and behavior of team members to ensure adherence with company/departmental policies, processes, and procedures
  • Serves as a role model, facilitating effective communication practices throughout the team and embodying the value of, “Everything is Important.” 
  • Evaluates the work of Scheduling Team, provides feedback, and coaches and disciplines employees as needed to be sure that their performance meets job expectations 
  • Ensures the ERP/MRP system accurately reflects the correct production plan and status of vehicles and sub-assemblies 
  • Publishes an accurate production schedule forecast 
  • Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly reporting accurately represents the production status 
  • Works to resolve/escalate any issues blocking progress on achieving the production schedule in a timely manner 
  • Fosters a team environment across the functions involved in achieving the production schedule 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Associate degree in management or related field 
  • Five (5) years of related work experience, including at least three (3) plus years of related experience as Material Planner, Production Planner, Material Handler, or equivalent 
  • Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience 
Preferred Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in SQL and Fishbowl or similar MRP systems
  • Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
  • Prior experience in rapid growth environment
Skills/Abilities and Attributes
  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams 
  • Ability to employ both creative and analytical approaches in resolving scheduling and production issues 
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Perfectionist mindset, very high attention to detail 
  • Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently 
  • Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines and to meet deadlines 
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others 
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic 
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Must be able to work in a seated, standing, or walking position for extended periods 
  • Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at computer keyboard for extended periods 
  • Must have ability to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone 
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed 
  • Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy 
  • Must be able to properly wear assigned PPE in the work environment 
  • Work in a busy, loud, and fast paced automotive shop environment 
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., infrequent lifting to 50 lbs. 
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is between $85,100 - 106,400 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
