JOB DESCRIPTION : MACHINE OPERATOR GRIND SHOP Reports To : Production Supervisor Grind Shop Direct Reports : N / A FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Summary Utilize industrial grinders, precision measuring tools, and optical comparators to produce tungsten carbide rolls meeting product specifications and Company objectives.
Essential Functions Utilize grinding machines to manufacture tungsten carbide rolls to blueprints and work instructions.
Select, dress, and mount grinding wheel according to specification using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
Monitor machine operations and operate more than one machine, as needed. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring devices, ensuring that surfaces and measurements meet specifications.
Read blueprints and utilize hand tools. Abide by safety policies and procedures to ensure safe work practices. Communicate with coworkers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all Company regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. Perform other duties as directed by the Production Supervisor, Operations Manager, and / or President & CEO.
