Mandatory Skill : Netezza DBA Good to have skill : SNOW Flake DBA.

Proven experience (6-8 years) as a Netezza Database Administrator (DBA) or similar role.

Expertise in Netezza database administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of database concepts, architecture, and best practices.

Proficiency in scripting and query optimization.

Experience with Netezza high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Knowledge of database security principles and practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Should be flexible to work in Shift and on-call support on any critical situations.

Responsibilities

As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Netezza databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions to meet the needs of our organization.

Manage, monitor, and maintain Netezza databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

Identify and resolve performance issues, optimize queries, and fine-tune database configurations to improve efficiency and response times.

Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime in case of failures or disasters.

Implement and enforce database security policies, roles, and permissions to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches.

Configure and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, such as clustering on Openshift.

Collaborate with developers and architects to design and optimize database schemas, indexes, and data structures for performance and scalability.

Apply patches, service packs, and updates on IBM Netezza ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

Set up and configure database monitoring tools to proactively monitor performance metrics, disk space, and other vital parameters. Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to prevent service disruptions.

Create and maintain technical documentation for database, schemas, tables, configurations, and procedures etc.
