How you’ll make an impact:

The Principal Product Manager is a critical leadership role in the SiriusXM Connect product organization. This individual will help us shape the future of our strategic product portfolio through market research, customer feedback, innovation exploration, business case development, and product roadmaps to identify and deliver on new products and strategies in the connected vehicle and adjacent markets.

What you’ll do:

  • Entrepreneurial Innovation: Help identify meaningful problems to solve, evaluate and develop the business case and then go execute and solve those problems.

  • Product Strategy: Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for Connected Vehicle products, aligning with the business strategy.

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape, using insights to inform the product strategy.

  • Roadmap: Define and manage the roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on impact and customer value.

  • Feature Development: Lead team members to work closely with engineering and design teams to define product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Commercial and Finance teams on roadmap prioritization, successful product launches, go-to-market strategies, and achievement of business and customer targets.

  • Performance metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators for commerce products and making data-driven decisions.

  • Contribute original thought towards a strategic vision for connected vehicle and other related markets/products; follow through with process and tactics for developing, communicating, and implementing vision.

  • Responsible for the prioritization and maintenance of connected product roadmap.

  • Author the product requirements for the new products and enhancements to existing products.

  • Collaborate with UX and architecture on both strategic and detailed levels on mission-critical user experience.

  • Present and defend long-term design vision as well as short-term design solutions to leadership.

  • Work with internal SiriusXM teams and external partners to define and document new product concepts.

  • Make real-time decisions for assigned programs as the subject matter expert for product features and functionality.

  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria and develop a prioritized backlog.

  • Collaborate with product teams to define forward-looking features.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

  • 10 years of progressive experience working with technology and business strategy.

  • 10 years in Product Management of consumer digital / software products.

  • 5 years of professional experience with connected vehicle and/or IoT services.

  • Experience in Product Management and/or development of complex serving systems for web and/or mobile applications.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful product strategies.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience building and managing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Deep understanding of customer journeys and user experience best practices for subscription products.

  • Agile and adaptable, able to operate in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Good public speaking and presentation skills; with experience presenting to and influencing senior management.

  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure e.g. Amazon Web Services.

  • Experience with Agile management tools-- Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) desirable.

  • Knowledge of Jira and Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized

  • Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person.

  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
