Situation, a digital-first agency building passionate communities for live experience-based clients like WICKED on Broadway and The Metropolitan Opera, seeks a Freelance Designer with motion graphics experience to develop creative and adapt and refine digital assets across diverse projects. The selected candidate has a keen eye for detail and a passion for crafting high-quality work that adheres to our client’s brand standards and achieves our strategic goals.

What You’ll Do

The Designer is responsible for crafting and maintaining distinct and authentic work that makes an impact. You’ll expand our client’s look and feel across digital, motion and print canvases and bring ideas to life using your cutting-edge know-how and fearless imagination. The right candidate handles objective feedback with a smile and thrives in a fluid environment working at lightning speed with surgical precision. Must be an expert with design software including Adobe Creative Cloud (AfterEffects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop designs and execute final artwork across a variety of graphic mediums, with a special focus in animation and motion graphics
• Push creative boundaries while aligning to the client’s brand standards on all designs
• Provide strong quality and consistency of work across deliverables
• Brainstorm design opportunities backed with research and insights
• Attend kick-offs, brainstorms, client calls and presentations when needed
• Communicate project status to your team to ensure deadlines are met and roadblocks are addressed
• Adapt, refine, and organize digital and print materials
• Set up print-ready files and mechanicals
• Review files and assets to make sure they are clean, crisp and ready for client eyes, as well as handoff to vendors
• Develop organized and annotated working files that can be handed off as templates for others to easily pick up and edit
• Work with design team on any necessary changes or edits to meet perfection-level guidelines

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience at a creative agency or similar environment
• A portfolio showcasing polished, well-thought design in lead and hands-on roles
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign)
• Expert knowledge of print production, including preflight and mechanical set up
• Understanding of how technical factors affect designing for the digital and print spaces
• Eagle-eye for details like spotting alignment issues and inconsistencies
• Strong sense of typography
• Dynamic and confident presentation skills to pitch ideas clearly and effectively
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced creative environment
• A deep understanding of how technical factors affect designing for the digital space
• Troubleshoot and problem solve efficiently, intelligently and with positivity

Benefits

• Salary range: $60 - $75 per hour, commensurate with experience
