What you will do:
As our Employee Relations HR Generalist , you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing employee relations, helping to shape our organization's success! In addition to employee relations, you will be responsible for performing a broad range of HR duties on a professional level and work closely with HR management in supporting company and department strategic goals. This position works in our Ashland, OH location.
The job:
Every day, your primary role will be to provide exceptional customer support to internal employees. You will be responsible for managing employee relations to include addressing employee concerns and workplace issues, managing conflict resolutions, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting a positive workplace culture. You will partner with managers to monitor accountability in workplace policies such as attendance expectations. You will be instrumental in new employee onboarding, maintaining employee data in HRIS and third-party systems, job description development and maintenance, creating HR communication and marketing material as necessary, managing the online SJE Employee Store, and working on special projects as need.
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you must have a proactive approach to problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a strong background in HR employment-related laws and regulations. You must be highly organized with an acute attention to detail, proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint), and enjoy working on a variety of assignments. Three or more years applicable HR Generalist experience with an emphasis in employee relations, and a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field are preferred. HR Certification and experience with UKG Pro are a plus!
