A local Bellingham company who is an AS9100 Rev. D, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified and ITAR registered provider of contract assembly, quick-turn and production machining services, and composites is looking to add a Shop Assistant position to their growing machine shop team.

Job Summary:

The duties of these position are performed to produce composite sandwich panels, at various stations and stages of production Assemble constructions on the lay-up table, loading and unloading the charges at the panel press, and controlling the press operation sequence for different panel constructions, trimming panels and stacking for shipment

Key Responsibilities: The main focus of this position is to deburr (smooth and remove sharp points and edges) the finished parts that come out of the CNC machine.

  • Verification and withdrawal of materials from cold storage, allowing them to acclimate per the specification.
  • Cut materials to the correct size per the work order, lay up the cut materials into a panel construction per the work order.
  • Transfer the panel constructions into the platen press that has been adjusted to the correct temperature per the work order.
  • Operate the press to perform the correct burp cycle for optimum removal of volatiles.
  • Remove the panel constructions from the platen press after they have cured for the specified time.
  • Trim panels on CNC machines to work order specified dimensions and palletize completed panels for shipping.

Minimum Requirements: This is an entry level position

Education:

  • High School diploma/GED preferred
