Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated child care professional to join our team as a Director Designee / Lead Float of Skies the Limit at WNY VA Healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and creating a safe, nurturing environment for them to learn and grow. This person will perform duties under the general direction of the Director and will have supervisory responsibility. The candidate must be available to open the center at 6:30 AM; end of shift has flexibility.

Qualifications:

- Successful completion of a CDA or currently enrolled in a major course of study related to early childhood education, child development, or similar field

- Previous experience teaching children in a childcare setting

- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and regulations

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of childcare professionals

Major Responsibilities:

- Acting supervisor in Director's absence; reports directly to Director

-Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well being of children

- Prepares work schedules for assigned staff to meet ratio and group size requirements.

- Ensures children are appropriately supervised at all times.

- Ensures compliance with health, fire, safety, facility and program regulatory requirements

- Works cooperatively with other administrative team members to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality operations

- May be required to perform health related practices as reasonably needed
