Skyfall Residential Homes is Hiring a Youth Care Worker Near Toledo, OH

Summary:

We seek a full-time and part-time Youth Care Worker to provide consistent therapeutic care for at-risk teenage girls ranging in ages from 12-17 at our group home facility located in Toledo. The ideal candidate will work actively within the home to implement individual, and group programs through the care, supervision, monitoring, and direction of the residents encompassing activities related to residents' health, education, welfare, and care for the physical environment and maintaining appropriate records.

Qualifications and Education:

Education: Bachelor's (Preferred)

License: Drivers (Required)

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to remain calm and use good judgment in difficult situations
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Excellent written and communication skills for preparing reports
  • Excelled verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the community and its resources
  • Knowledge in writing progress notes

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent care for residents who may be afflicted with emotional and behavioral disorders
  • Provide case management to youth
  • Mentor and coach residents
  • Transporting residents when required
  • Engage in daily recreational activities as well as other planned recreational programs.
  • Discipline residents when necessary
  • Teach residents' daily life skills and daily living activities via mirroring, including but not limited to cooking, cleaning, and laundry
  • Directly supervise residents in the performance of daily chores
  • Assists in the preparation and/or serving of meals to residents when appropriate to the program
  • In conjunction with the treatment team, assist in developing, writing, and implementing group and individual treatment plans
  • Medication administration and documentation that follow medical procedures as directed by supervisor
  • Documents shift activities and maintains appropriate records
  • Works collegially with recreation staff, school staff, and others within the treatment team to ensure the quality of care for unit residents
  • Participates in team meetings; attends appropriate staffings and other meetings related to residents, as needed
  • Provides assistance with special projects
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time or part-time Some weekends required.
