Skyland Animal Hospital, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina, is looking to hire an experienced veterinary assistant or veterinary technician to join our team.

Skyland Animal Hospital, operating for over 4 decades, is a state of the art small animal hospital with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, dental suite, pharmacy, electronic records and a fully computerized management system. Schedule

● Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm

Employees acquire an average of a 10 hour day 4 days a week

Salary

● $15.00-$20.00.00 per hour

Pay range varies depending on experience level

Job Responsibilities

● Provide a welcoming, warm environment for owners and pets

● Engage in communication with clients in regards to their pets while providing information to them in a kind, concise, and professional manner

● Gather a concise and thorough history on a pet and relay the information effectively to the doctor

● Restrain cats and dogs

● Assist in venipuncture, injections, radiography, anesthesia, etc.

Experience

● Veterinary Assistant or Technician: 1 or more years (Preferred)

Required Skills

● Safely and gently restrain cats and dogs

● Communicate confidently with clients and staff

Preferred Skills

● Venipuncture

● Catheter placement

● Microscope usage

● Anesthesia monitoring
