Job Title : Floor Manager (Tech, Inpatient Detox Rehab Center)

Supervisor’s Title : Program Director

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

General Summary: The Floor Manager serves as the lead Recovery Advocate/Tech to ensure that the non-clinical aspects of facility life are properly managed and supports the clinical program. Monitors and cares for the physical, emotional, and social needs of Taylor Recovery Center at Sugar Land's clients. Directly supervises each client in accordance with the client’s assigned level in the program.

This position requires a flexible schedule allowing the floor manager to work parts of both shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am) and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises the other Recovery Advocate/Techs and clients and ensures that they are being safe to themselves and to those around them.
• Serves as a liaison between clinical and nursing staff and the other Recovery Advocate/Techs
• Assists clients in processing through the clients’ various issues and concerns.
• Advises clients in regards to problem solving and offers healthy coping strategies for dealing with the clients’ emotions.
• Observes and charts client behavior, affect, and participation.
• Role models in all areas.
• Monitors the environment surrounding for safety, and is aware of emergency procedures.
• Works to create a therapeutic environment on shift.
• Punctuality and regular attendance is essential.
• Attends shift meetings.
• Complete required trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the program rules and level requirements.
• Knowledge of facility’s policies found in the Policies and Procedures manual.
• Basic knowledge of the substance abuse disorders and issues facing the clients.
• Knowledge of proper charting procedure.
• Skill in problem solving.
• Ability to perform CPR and First-Aid.
• Ability to effectively communicate rules, expectations, and consequences.

Education and Experience:

The position requires experience working with at substance abuse and mental health.

A valid Driver’s License is required.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

Recovery Coaching certificate preferred.
