Summary:

The Principal Solutions Engineering (SE) at SkyWater is central to both broadening our customer base and ensuring the success of our clients by adeptly demonstrating SkyWater's technological capabilities and value proposition. This vital role involves acting as the primary technical liaison, directly engaging with both prospective and existing clients as well as internal teams to foster new business opportunities. Tasked with resolving technical challenges, the SE facilitates a smooth pathway for clients to realize their technological visions with SkyWater. Representing the technical voice of SkyWater to our clientele and advocating for customer requirements internally, the SE’s goal is to secure design wins indicative of new customer success. This position is tailored for a dynamic and competent Field Applications Engineer eager to promote SkyWater’s growth by translating technological potentials into real customer successes. Responsibilities:

• Act as the chief technical interface for customers, guiding them through the technical and operational phases from the concept stage to project commencement utilizing our platform technologies.
• Utilize technical expertise to illustrate SkyWater's technologies, resolve customer challenges, and push opportunities towards successful business deals.
• Cultivate strong relationships with customer stakeholders, establishing SkyWater as a trusted partner for innovative solutions.
• Work in concert with sales, engineering, and business units to ensure customer needs are met with SkyWater’s offerings.
• Lead the formulation of project proposals and statements of work (SOWs), aligning them with customer objectives and SkyWater’s business strategies.
• Analyze customer feedback to pinpoint technical gaps, suggest improvements to SkyWater's solutions, and enhance our competitive edge based on technical strengths.
• Acquire expert knowledge of SkyWater's technologies and platforms to assist in new customer acquisition and bolster sales efforts.
• Collect and interpret voice of the customer (VOC) insights from target markets to guide strategic decisions and product innovations.
• Represent SkyWater at industry conferences to forge connections and gain insights into evolving customer requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years in field applications, design, or process development/integration within the semiconductor industry preferably in foundries.
• Required experience in Analog, Mixed Signal, ASIC design, ideally with 90nm and 130nm CMOS nodes technologies, demonstrating a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities these older technologies present.
• Preference for candidates with experience in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry, showcasing a capacity to meet the stringent requirements and challenges unique to this sector.
• Working knowledge/experience with Cadence Tool set for PDKs, layout, DRCs.
• Analog & Mixed Signal IC design experience (in addition to reference to ASIC design).
• Experience working with 3rd party partners: Tool vendors, Design Partners, IP provider
• A strong semiconductor processing background will enable a candidate to leverage SkyWater’s unique Technology as a Service (Taas) model to generate unique process and design solutions for our customers.
