Description
Our office is expanding and we're looking for a phlebotomist to help us provide first-class patient care! You'll be responsible for scheduling appointments and collecting lab samples. Our ideal candidate has some experience working in a medical office performing phlebotomy tasks and in an administrative role and knows how to build an excellent rapport with people. This position will start off part-time with flexible hours with the ability to go full-time. Traveling to patient homes and Nursing Homes to collect specimens will be your main responsibility and you will be reimbursed for gas and the use of you car.If you have a passion for helping others and are looking to further your career in the medical field reach out to us today!
Responsibilities
•Say hello to patients when they arrive at the office
•Answer the phone and schedule appointments
•Draw patient blood samples and prepare them to be collected and sent to the lab
•Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized
•Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records
•Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office
•Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staff
•Help healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, positioning the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed
Qualifications
•Completed an accredited medical assisting program and an externship in a supervised healthcare setting
•Graduated from high school or received GED
•Possesses basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks
•Passed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam to obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency
•Strong communication skills and customer service skills
