Small Batch is a single, small, Maine-owned Medical Cannabis company that values quality, transparency and accountability. We grow our own flower, make our own edibles, and process our own solventless extracts. All of our in-house products are pesticide and mold-free.

We like to operate in an environment that is casual and flexible, but we take our jobs seriously and work hard. Every member of our team has a noticeable impact on the success of the business. We are currently in a rebuilding phase, and looking for someone who is excited to take on responsibility and grow with us.

Position Description:

We are searching for a cannabis enthusiast who, in working closely with the Store Manager, will provide support for all components involved in operating a medical cannabis retail store. This primarily involves fulfilling Budtender duties and assisting with inventory management, organization and cleanliness.

It is important that you are not only passionate about working with cannabis, but also passionate about working with people. We expect you to get to know our “regulars” on a first-name basis and do your absolute best to provide all patients with exceptional service. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment for all types of people, and patience is key.

When you are not tending to patients you are ensuring the smooth operation of the store by restocking products, maintanining inventory in Flowhub, updating menus, checking labels for accuracy, and keeping the shop clean. Our inventory is often changing, and you will help with rotating new products into the store while keeping things organized and staying knowledgeable.

To be successful in this position you must be hard-working, detail oriented, reliable, and independent.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting patients and verifying IDs.
  • Answering questions regarding the different cannabis products, their medicinal uses, and methods of consumption both in-person and occasionally over the phone.
  • Forming connections with customers and making sure they are content with their purchases, while keeping the manager informed of any issues.
  • Processing payments using Flowhub, and handling cash transactions with precision and accuracy.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe facility, including the dispensary, parking lot and sidewalk.
  • Performing Opening and Closing duties.
  • Ensuring inventory is stocked, accurately labeled, and in-line with Flowhub.
  • Modifying the menu and updating the display when a product is added to or removed from the store.
  • Having an understanding of and complying with all state regulations and company policies.
  • Assisting the Processing Department with trimming, packaging, and harvesting when needed.
  • Other projects as assigned, which will be based on your strengths and the needs of the business.

Scheduling:

This role requires a full-time, 40 hr/wk commitment. We are currently seeking someone to work four days on (4 x 10 hour shifts) with three days off. You MUST work Fri-Sun. This is non-negotiable. But you can choose your fourth day of work.

The weekend shifts would be Sat and Sun from 10:30am to 9pm and the weekday shifts would be Fri and [insert weekday of our choice] from 9:30am to 8pm. All shifts include one unpaid 30-minute break.

There will be an initial, 1 month training period during which we’ll need you to work Tues-Fri from 11:30 to 8pm and Saturday from 12:30 to 9pm.

Requirements:

To be seriously considered for this position you must provide a detailed resume and a brief but thoughtful explanation of why you think you would be a good fit. Failure to do so will result in automatic rejection.

You must also:

  • Work weekends.
  • Be a minimum 21 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have a valid RIC card, or be able to obtain one.
  • Have reliable transportation to/from work.
  • Be proficient at typing.
  • Maintain good hygiene practice.

Compensation:

  • $22/hr plus tips
  • Free lunch on Harvest days
  • 2 weeks of paid vacation per calendar year (must be accrued)
  • Paid time off on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
  • 25% store discount
  • Occasional free samples
