SmallHD is Hiring a Production Manager Near Cary, NC
What will I be doing?Create Build Plans, organize and control production to ensure that assemblies are produced efficiently, on time, and within the quality standards of SmallHD. Recruit and train assembly team to prioritize efficiency and quality. Create solutions to problems or processes that arise on the lines. Work with Engineering and Quality departments to achieve common goals. Oversee Health & Safety within the building.
A typical day might include the following:
- Spot checking the lines to ensure quality standards are met
- Analyzing production and quality control failures to detect and correct problems efficiently
- Preparing and maintaining production productivity reports that are viewed by management
- Monitoring employee productivity and creating metrics for fair evaluation
- Maintaining healthy employee relationships and helping them achieve their goals
- Providing evaluations and constructive feedback to employees on a regular basis
- Working with Materials Manager to devise and maintain accurate Build Plans
- Documenting and implementing standard operating procedures for production operations; monitoring to ensure adherence
- Implementing safety procedures in the manufacturing area and make sure they are followed
- Identifying and maintaining tools and equipment needed for workstations
- Maintaining MPS (Manufacturing Production System) parts and assist in the setup of assembly Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Helping estimate production costs (ie, average assembly time)
- Checking time sheets, making corrections, submitting to payroll
- Adding input to the design and implementation of workstations and jigs for new product rollout as needed
- Assisting IT in the setup of new employees within Production Systems and assisting with IT support in production
- Working with Service Repair Center (SRC) and Certified Repair Center (CRC) teams to ensure all parties have been informed of issues and roll-out solutions for those issues
- Assisting with building and equipment maintenance as needed
Qualified candidates must have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge and experience in electronic assembly
- Knowledge of proper handling, storage, movement of electrical components, LCD and OLED panels, LEDs, metals, cables
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
- Knowledge of business, finance, management, and human resource principles
- Knowledge of production assembly machines and tools
- Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices
- Solid computer skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Conflict management skills
- Ability to be adaptable and operate with a can do attitude
- Management skills including decision-making, influencing, leading, and delegation
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques a plus
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards a plus
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques desired
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills desired
- Exceptional planning, organizing, and time management skills a plus
- This position is based in the Cary, NC office
- Reporting to General Manager
