Key Responsibilities
- Network Transport Design and Implementation:
- Design, deploy, and maintain high-capacity transport networks, including DWDM, OTN, Fiber and MPLS systems.
- Develop and implement network transport policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure seamless integration of transport networks with existing infrastructure.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor the performance of network transport systems and conduct regular assessments to ensure optimal operation.
- Implement optimization strategies to improve efficiency, latency, and reliability of transport networks.
- Conduct capacity planning and manage network upgrades.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex transport network issues.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance for resolving network disruptions and outages.
- Maintain detailed records of troubleshooting activities and solutions.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead a team of network transport engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand network requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and integrate new technologies.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure network transport security by implementing and managing encryption and other security measures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
- Research and Innovation:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in network transport technologies and integrate new solutions as appropriate.
- Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate new technologies for potential integration into the network
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on transport networks. Experience with deploying optical transport network is must.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing large-scale network transport projects.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of optical transport technologies, including DWDM, OTN, and MPLS.
- Expertise in network protocols and high-capacity data transmission systems.
- Proficiency with network management tools and software.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Leadership abilities with a focus on team development and collaboration.
