Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises consultant/vendor activities relating to the engineering and design of facility projects to ensure quality control and timely completion of projects.
- Develops and prepares specifications for construction and maintenance projects. Provides guidance to consultants as necessary.
- Inspects contractor efforts during construction, maintains progress records, approves payments, and makes recommendations for change orders.
- Monitors and tracks budgeted and capital grant expenditures, ensuring that construction projects are within budget.
- Participates in the selection of consultants, maintains records and prepares all correspondence related thereto.
- Ensures Authority compliance with building codes and permits.
- Participates in the evaluation of proposals.
- Participates in pre-bid walk-through meetings
- Maintains liaison between Maintenance and Procurement departments
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Architecture.
- Two to three years experience managing facility construction projects.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum requirements.
- Ability to write specifications for construction/maintenance projects.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Proficient in Windows-based word processing and spreadsheet applications.
