POSITION SUMMARY

Smartcap is seeking a Network Administrator at its manufacturing facility in Ft Worth TX. Network Administrators play a crucial role in managing and maintaining an organization's computer network infrastructure. They ensure that networks operate efficiently, securely, and reliably. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities. Responsibilities

• Manage servers, desktop/laptop computers, multifunction and single function printers, special purpose appliances and various peripheral devices in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
• Manage server storage infrastructure and connectivity.
• Responsible for the management of firewall, switches, access points, and cameras.
• Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint Administration
• Assess risk and apply required patches, software/firmware updates to servers and desktop/laptop computers to address security and stability issues.
• Manage Microsoft Group Policy creating and updating GPOs to effectively enforce IT security polices and streamline management functions.
• Provide daily management of accounts, print queues, folder, and file permissions.
• Manage backups and the backup process, including restores, DR testing.
• Support core business applications MES, WMS and ERP systems.
• Support computer room infrastructure (power, backup power, air conditioning, humidity control).
• Support manufacturing plant floor applications for data collection, traceability and ensure support availability when needed for critical plant related events or downtime requires.
• Support manufacturing plant floor hardware such as bar code printers, bar code scanners and tablets.
• Manage business communication VOIP systems and manufacturing dashboards.

Requirements

Skills Required

• Minimum five years’ experience in an IT systems administration and support role.
• Advanced knowledge of all aspects of Active Directory management.
• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
• Knowledge of firewall rules, VPN setup, and security protocols
• Knowledge of VLANs and network segmentation
• In-depth understanding of networking services (DNS, DHCP).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software suite
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases would be beneficial.
• Experience with VoIP technologies.
• Lifting to 50lb occasionally is required, along with working on ladders and scissor lifts to install hardware and running cable as necessary. 
• Experience within the automotive or manufacturing sector would be an asset.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems related course of study, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
• 5 years of server / network administration experience
• Proven experience in managing and delivering IT projects.
• Strong commitment to safety.
