The Opportunity:
As a Site Civil Design Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert on civil design projects and play a key role in assisting our clients to successfully execute their projects.
Responsibilities:

• Develop site/civil plans and specifications for land development and redevelopment projects; including the preparation of grading plans, utility plans, and stormwater management design.
• Review Local, County, State, and National design standards, plan requirements, permit requirements, zoning ordinances, and standard details for authorities having jurisdiction for development and redevelopment projects.
• Support the preparation of land development design and permitting documents; and review plans, drawings, and specification documents.
• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting requirements or questions.
• Coordinate plan review and permitting with authorities having jurisdiction.
• Be a client contact and closely coordinate with our project management team and field engineering team.
• Support the development of new project opportunities and assist with managing proposals and project submissions.
• Supervise design team activities during construction.
• Manage and prioritize workloads while assisting in the development and training of junior-level staff.

• Use problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex construction challenges.

Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of experience preferred;
• Proficiency using the latest versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D;
• Strong knowledge of Civil Site Development including but not limited to site layout, grading and underground infrastructure;
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.

• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, accurate and detailed record-keeping skills, documenting field observations, safety concerns, and problem resolutions.
• Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering positive working relationships, client-centric approach to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Must be able to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions.
• Basic construction competencies including ability to determine location from surface features and landmarks by interpretation from surveys, road maps, aerial photos, topographic maps, and geologic maps; understanding construction stakes set by others, and color markings of utility companies.
• Has a general aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field, utilizing critical thinking and logical reasoning.
• Demonstrates professional and ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work, strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, fostering a safe working environment for yourself and others.
