SMG Talent Partners is Hiring a Project Manager Near Louisville, KY

SMG is working with a leading Commercial Construction company in Kentucky to find an experienced Project Manager to join their team. The right candidate must be ready to tackle a wide variety of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons, ensuring clarity and accuracy in execution.
  • Quality Management: Implement and monitor the pre-construction quality plan and manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program.
  • Coordination & Communication: Facilitate project meetings, communicate details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers, and provide periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architect.
  • Documentation Management: Develop, maintain, and manage key project documents, including Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report, and submittal registers.
  • Permits & Compliance: Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and coordinate safety for all team members.
  • Contract Management: Manage, create, and distribute contract documents, issue subcontracts, develop scope of work for all subcontracts, and track all costs, both internal and external.
  • Submittal & RFI Management: Coordinate, package, track, review, and process submittals. Expedite submittals to ensure material deliveries align with the project schedule. Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders.
  • Project Closeout: Incorporate all processes and procedures supporting the project closeout phase, including incorporating subcontractor as-built documentation and revising or updating contract documents.
  • Scheduling & Tracking: Maintain and monitor the project schedule of timelines, follow through until completion, and determine alternative work methods as needed.
  • Professional Relationships: Maintain a professional working relationship with clients, subcontractors, and peers, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) in a technical field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in related roles.

Certifications: LEED AP preferred, but not required.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software; Viewpoint knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and complex documents.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of construction processes, law, and business practices.
  • Professional attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
