Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hygienist to join our team. The Hygienist will be responsible for providing oral care to patients and assisting the dentist in various procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a strong desire to contribute to patient's oral health.
Responsibilities:
- Perform oral prophylaxis and scaling to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from the teeth
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide recommendations for improving oral health
- Take digital dental x-rays and assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation to patients as needed
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Assist with infection control procedures and sterilization of dental instruments
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in oral health care and attend continuing education programs as required
Qualifications:
- Valid state Hygienist license
- Proficient in performing oral prophylaxis and scaling
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral diseases, and treatment options
- Experience with digital x-rays and dental software systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with dental professionals
- Attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity
